Yule Cottages

For the last two years, we have gotten together with our friend Nerida to make Yule cottages in the week before yule.

Last year, Jack and I did the construction and it went very badly.

This year, I nominated Rod to do the construction. It didn't go much better.

We had fun anyway.

And, just as last year, Nerida and Connor did a great job.

We like to claim that it's because Nerida is an engineer, but Rod and I may get some more materials and practice again this year -- just to see if we can't figure out where we're going wrong.

But the kids have a blast eating too many sweets and raising a ruckus, so it's very worthwhile even if we never do get a real cottage out of it.
